Tilkut is a social knowledge sharing application. Store and share notes and links and discuss them with your friends and colleagues.

Use Tilkut as your:

• Personal notebook
• Link, and weak signal collection
• Shared data bank
• Innovation tool

With Tilkut you can:

• Create private or public clips with notes and tags
• Browse your own and other users’ clips using tags and categories
• Create groups and invite other people to join and share ideas and observations
• Post clips to your blog

Clipping web pages: 

Clips are made from web pages with Tilkut bookmarklet. Bookmarklet is like regular browser bookmark which in this case forwards to Tilkut to create a clip. When you click the bookmarket when visiting a web page, the Tilkut form for saving the link opens up. If you have some text selected on the page when you click the bookmarklet, the selected text is automatically copied to the Tilkut form.

Installing Tilkut bookmarklet

Internet Explorer
Right click the ⇒ tilkut! link and select "Add to Favorites...".

Firefox
Drag the Tilkut bookmarklet ⇒ tilkut! to your Firefox browser toolbar. Make sure you have the bookmarks toolbar visible on your browser by checking View -> Toolbars -> Bookmarks toolbar.

An alternative way to make bookmarks in Firefox is to use a Greasemonkey script

1. Install Greasemonkey extension to Firefox
2. Restart browser
3. Install the Tilkut user script
4. Select text from any web page and click the Tilkut icon
